Education:

I attended the University of Denver completing an undergrad in accounting.  After working many years in the corporate environment, I returned to school and received my Master’s degree with honors in Community Counseling and a Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from Saint Mary’s University.

Career:

My early career began in public accounting as an auditor for one of the largest accounting firms in the US. I then moved into the private sector progressing to Chief Financial Officer of a venture capital firm focused on information technology. This sparked my interest in technology where I transitioned my career into a business owner integrating my financial knowledge with IT. I was recruited at a large financial institution as a project manager of web development and moved into management which expanded into studying the complex system of being human. The exploration of studying human behavior led to earning my PhD in Counselor Ed and Supervision and subsequently into full-time psychotherapy.

And then I became a mother. This was a significant shift in my perspective on this human existence.

Other Interests:

As the only girl of 6 children, sports were a pivotal aspect of my personal development. After pursuing triathlons for multiple years and after having children, I moved to the indoor activity of aerial acrobatics which combines strength with movement and creativity.  I discovered the benefits of connecting to the body as a form of processing distress in a non-cognitive way. With the life changes that happened for many since March 2020, I transitioned my physical movements to a slower more gentle pace in a yoga practice.

Summary:

I am personally experienced in winding roads and a willingness to change when there is a clear need to do so.  Additionally, it demonstrates my diverse background which reflects my personal philosophy: life is dynamic and change is inevitable, even critical.

I thrive where communication is crucial and have proven success at building relationships and engendering trust. I assert that only you are the expert of your life; my role is as a collaborator, assisting and supporting you on your journey. As your transitions unfold, my gift is to perceive and present new possibilities that might not otherwise be observed by someone working through them alone.
